Accra Floods: Kwadwo Sheldon Descends on Madina MP After His Estate Gets Flooded

Madina MP, Francis Xavier Sosu, has sparked the wrath of Kwadwo Sheldon after the torrential rains on May 18, 2025.
After Sunday's downpour, many parts of Accra, including Madina, Pantang, Lakeside, Okponlo, and others, were flooded.

Kwadwo Sheldon was also affected by the floods. He shared a video of his estate, which was affected by the rains, with the building submerged in water.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) shared a flyer urging citizens who were affected by the floods to reach out for support.
Madina MP responds to rain in region
The Madina MP, Sosu, who represents people residing in parts of the affected areas in Parliament, also tried to offer some help to victims of the floods.
In an X post, he shared NADMO's flyer asking the flood victims to reach out, but instead infuriated Sheldon, who reposted it with a stern warning.
"You di3 we go get your time.. we will definitely get your time!! Keep posting useless flyers!!" Sheldon wrote on X.

Shatta Wale offers help, Kwadwo Sheldon declines
After Kwadwo Sheldon's post showing the damage of Sunday's rains to his apartment, he received offers from some concerned citizens, including Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale.
The dancehall star asked him to reach out in case he needed any support, but this was taken the wrong way by the YouTuber, who told him to invest in taking care of his mother instead.

Over 3,000 people affected
3,000 individuals at Odawna Sahara in the Greater Accra Region have been affected by flooding as a result of Sunday's heavy downpour, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has confirmed.
In an interview with Joy News, the Director of NADMO for the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, Hendrick Noble Kinnah, blamed the havoc caused by the rains in part on poor waste disposal practices.
Heavy rainfall expected
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has also warned that more rain is expected in June 2025.
In an interview with TV3 on May 19, Frederick Cudjoe, a meteorologist with the Central Analysis and Forecast Office of GMet, disclosed that the country is gradually entering the peak of the rainfall season.
He disclosed that, based on the agency’s assessment, more rain is expected in the eastern part of the country, especially between April and June this year.
He urged authorities and residents to begin desilting gutters and clearing structures in waterways.
AMA to embark on decongestion exercise
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), in partnership with the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, will also start a major decongestion exercise in Accra’s Central Business District (CBD) today, Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
The decongestion exercise forms part of efforts to improve sanitation in the nation’s capital.

Four-year-old passes away after heavy downpour
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that the Municipal Chief Executive for the Adentan Municipal Assembly, Ella Esiman Nongo, stated that at least three persons, including a four-year-old child, died during recent flooding.
Nongo said the fatalities occurred at Lakeside, Nanakrom, and New Legon after the downpour on May 18, 2025. The floods caused major traffic congestion and left many pedestrians stranded in sections of Greater Accra.
