"Real Madrid will struggle to actually mount that comeback" - Sports journalist
TV3 presenter Bill Eshun spoke to YEN.com.gh in an exclusive interview about the possibility of Real Madrid making a comeback in the second leg of the UCL quarterfinals.
He noted that a lot of things happen at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and that there was a possibility of Real Madrid turning the scores around.
"We have seen over the years how Real Madrid have bounced back from nearly impossible situations to actually claiming victories at the Bernabéu," he said.
The seasoned sports presenter noted that things feel different this season because Real Madrid have failed to beat teams that football fans expected them to beat easily in matches played in the 2024/2025 season.
"Even Bellingham admitted that they have not been at their best throughout this season, and this has basically been a theme for the Real Madrid side this season," he said.
Mr Eshun explained that Arsenal, on the other hand, have not conceded three or more goals since December 2023, which is quite a long time, and this was against Luton Town in the 2023/2024 season.
He explained that it goes on to show how strongly defensive Arsenal are or have been over the years, and that would probably be a struggle for Real Madrid to crack.
"Also, knowing that Real Madrid is very porous in defence as well. They (Real Madrid) struggle to defend set pieces, which happens to be Arsenal's main strength. I think Real Madrid will struggle to actually mount that comeback."
Fans Urge Arsenal to Renew Partey’s Contract
YEN.com.gh reported that Arsenal fans pleaded with the club's management to extend Ghanaian professional footballer Thomas Partey’s contract following his impressive showing against Real Madrid.
The Ghanaian midfielder, whose current deal expires in June 2025, played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over the European champions at the Emirates on Tuesday night on April 8, 2025.
Supporters took to social media to express their admiration for Partey's performance and called on the club to secure his future before he potentially leaves the club on a free transfer.
