Who is Anthony Joshua?

Anthony Joshua is a professional British boxer, born October 15, 1989, in Watford, England, of Nigerian descent. He is a massive heavyweight with great athleticism, discipline and punching power. Anthony Joshua skyrocketed to international fame after winning a boxing gold medal in the super heavyweight division at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

In 2013, Anthony Joshua turned professional and started his meteoric rise to the top of the heavyweight division with numerous boxing matches ending in impressive knockouts. He captured the IBF heavyweight title in 2016 by defeating Charles Martin. He then unified the division when he later captured the WBA (Super), IBO, and WBO titles, defeating former champion Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, and Alexander Povetkin.

In June 2019, Anthony suffered a shocking loss against Andy Ruiz Jr. He lost all of his titles. His problem was that Ruiz was able to put pressure on him, and this led to Joshua's defeat. In December 2019, Anthony reclaimed his titles when he defeated Ruiz in a rematch. Joshua is very adaptable and teaches other athletes how to be resilient.

His next two fights were against the top-ranked heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk. He requested to fight him due to his reputation, but lost both fights, which ultimately led to him losing his unified titles.

Although he has faced considerable disappointment, Joshua remains one of the most recognisable names in modern boxing.
