Controversial Ghanaian televangelist Agradaa, or Evangelist Mama Pat, was served a writ of summons concerning the GH₵20 million defamation lawsuit gospel musician Empress Gifty filed against her on Monday, May 26, 2025.

In a video shared by renowned blogger Gossips24TV on Instagram, the Heaven Way church founder and her husband, Angel Asiamah, were seen heading inside an elevator in the premises of a court when a bailiff served them the writ to officially notify the televangelist that she was involved in a legal action.
An eyewitness narrated that Agradaa's husband, displeased with the bailiff's actions, allegedly grabbed the writ of summons and threw it on the floor before departing with his wife and heading to their residence.
Empress Gifty's defamation lawsuit against Agradaa
News of the televangelist being served the writ comes days after Empress Gifty filed a GH₵20 million defamation lawsuit against her over some allegations she made against her and her husband, Hopeson Adorye, in their ongoing feud on social media.

In response to the lawsuit, the controversial televangelist threatened her own legal action against politician Hopeson Adorye.
Agradaa shared that she would retaliate against the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Best Traditional Gospel Song winner by also dragging her husband, Adorye, to court for threatening violence against her during a recent interview.
She said she would sue Empress Gifty's husband for billions of dollars in an international court and use part of the money to settle her GH₵20 million defamation case.

The controversial televangelist stated that the bailiff should not have given the writ to her husband since the lawsuit did not concern him directly.
Agradaa also shared that she had filed a petition with the IGP, Christian Yohuno, over the threats Hopeson Adorye made against her during an interview.
